Well, this might not be a question you have asked yourself lately, but as the author of Astro’s Adventures, it was the first thing I had to answer when I started writing The Golden Treasure.
We all know that dogs and cats are mortal enemies. Well, that’s what television shows and books have been telling us for years.
Well, Astro’s Adventures, a series of children’s books about cats and dogs, isn’t going to dispel this myth.
The dogs and cats in the story are based on real animals that belong to my family and friends.
Where did the idea of having a blind dog come from?
The Golden Treasure, the second book in the series, was written to introduce a new dog to the team.
Her name is Stella D’oro and she is a blind cocker spaniel.
The book was written when Stella was only a puppy, but I wanted her to have extra special qualities that go above and beyond a normal dog.
Sure, in real life she bumps into things but in Astro’s Adventures she has the ability to read minds, and see into the future.
Why is a dog being hidden at a cat show?
Why is a dog being hidden at a cat show? Because she was dog-napped by a cat!
The story centers on the dog-napping of Stella, who is also very much needed, by Speed Bump Charlie. The most evil of geniuses the world has ever known.
He has stolen one of the most important things which helps Astro and the gang rescue other dogs from neglect.
The dogs are sent to the one place in the world where dogs are never supposed to go to find it – yep, a cat show!
Well, you can imagine the antics involved when six dogs try to sneak into the building.
They also have to outwit Speed Bump Charlie, find the Golden Treasure and get back to base safely.
And, to add to their troubles, a team of young puppies decide to help them.
Find out what the Golden Treasure really is and why its discovery is so important to dog rescue across the world!
