There’s a Mouse on My Head! by Donna Warwick and Illustrated by Dayne Sislen
Written by Donna Warwick and illustrated by Dayne Sislen this wonderful story will engage and thrill any young reader.
There’s a Mouse on My Head!
“I’m hungry,” he said.
Please feed him my cheese
and please feed him my bread!
His tummy is growing!
He wants all of these,
He wants you to feed him
my leftover peas!
A clever boy uses his imagination to avoid eating his peas, cheese, and bread. His little sister and his toy mouse join in the fun. High jinks ensue. Their inventive grandmother joins in the action until the peas hit the cat bowl, then it’s bedtime for Mouse.
This action filled story is the perfect bedtime book. It’s about spending fun, quality time with grandma. The rhyme gets kids excited and involved, then calms them down with a few lessons in manners, just in time for bed.
Donna Warwick, the author and Dayne Sislen, the illustrator for the book worked closely together to bring the poem to life on the page. There’s a Mouse on My Head! Was a true team effort, one of the most fun collaborative projects either has worked on.
