Shoemaker Mack by Barbara Avon
Shoemaker Mack is a unique way to spark your child’s imagination. The child draws the illustrations. In a world where hi-tech devices have overtaken even the youngest mind, this children’s book offers the best of the old-school worlds: reading and drawing.
The story itself takes place in a Kingdom of yesteryear and the moral at the end of the story stays with the child for a lifetime. The book is also an excellent addition to birthday or party loot bags, great for dentist offices, daycares or just for “family fun time”.
What happens when the King entices Shoemaker Mack with a treasure chest full of gold to stop his relentless singing? A line from the story appears at the top of each 8 ½ by 11 page, giving the child enough room to draw the scene in the space below.
The book may inspire children to become future artists, storytellers or simply fall in love with books. The book features a full colour cover and is a stand-alone story. Two other similar books are available through the author. Ideal for children ages 5 to 8.
About the Author
Why do I write? The answer is that I don’t want to live my life in the shadows. I want to leave a legacy behind. I want to entertain people and touch them in a way that stays with them. I want to change people’s perspective on love and on life. I write because the words are already inside of me and it’s my duty to share; because God has given me a gift that I will not take for granted. I write because I was born a writer.
I am so blessed to have discovered who I am pretty early in life. I am blessed to have the opportunity to share. I look upon my books with a sense of pride and awe that: This is it. This is what I have dreamed of seeing my whole life. My name in print! My words forever etched upon paper and with the help of technology, those words will forever be available to all who seek them out or fall upon them by chance. I have a chance to reach people and give them insight into themselves; their loved ones and the world around them. This is what I’ve always wanted and this is the way it will always be until I am no longer around to use my digits to write – when my body is gone – the words will live on.
I am a wife, sister, daughter, an aunt and a friend. I am a lover of words and a firm believer that if you “lose your dreams, you might lose your mind.” (The Rolling Stones)
Follow your dreams and your heart will be abundant with love. It really is that simple. God Bless and thank you from the bottom of my heart for following me on this incredible journey.
